British online marketplace teams with cloud service expert UKFast in anticipation of user spike following TV campaign
British online marketplace OnBuy.com has signed a two-year partnership deal for hosting and support with leading online cloud services provider UKFast as it prepares for a surge in traffic.
The partnership ensures the stability and speed of the OnBuy platform in anticipation of a significant rise in the number of sellers and consumers using the site following the rollout of a nationwide TV campaign at the end of May. It also brings a host of other benefits, including unrivalled reliability and data security.
UKFast, a business-to-business hosting company based in Manchester, is an industry leader for managed hosting, cloud services, and colocation.
Cas Paton, Managing Director of OnBuy, said: “I’m excited to announce our partnership with UKFast and see this as another significant milestone in OnBuy’s journey to becoming a credible alternative to Amazon and eBay.
“This partnership benefits both sellers using the OnBuy platform and consumers looking to buy products. UKFast hosting is super-fast which gives both sellers and consumers a site that is user-friendly, trustworthy and will not slow down with surging traffic.
“UKFast sets the benchmark for reliability, meaning users won’t bounce off and go to one of OnBuy’s competitors, and sellers can be confident in the knowledge that UKFast is giving the OnBuy site 24/7 support 365 days of the year. UKFast has the benefit of scalability, so it’s fit for future growth and can scale when web traffic surges, such as during a product launch or during an advertising campaign.”
“OnBuy is British born and bred, so we are proud to be partnering with a company that is UK-based and supports the British economy. Our supply chain is extremely tight, meaning that personal identifiable data stays hosted securely on British soil.”
The partnership comes as OnBuy has listed its 200,000th product and prepares for a national TV consumer launch on ITV1 and ITV2 at the end of May.
The marketplace launched to sellers in November 2016 with the aim of offering UK online traders a credible and ethical alternative to Amazon and eBay, where they often struggle with high commission fees.
UKFast CEO Lawrence Jones added: “It’s time we backed innovative British services like OnBuy which are the lifeblood of the economy. It’s a huge honour for us to partner with them and we look forward to supporting their growth with incredible technology and support.”
