Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has today confirmed that shoppers will be required to wear face masks from 10 July 2020.
Last week, Bira reported that retailers in Scotland were being asked to display a poster at their entrance requesting shoppers to wear face coverings.
However, wearing face masks in shops has now been made mandatory.
Non-essential retail reopened in Scotland on Monday 29 June, with further restrictions eased from 6 July.
The Scottish Government has provided template posters and printable stickers which can be downloaded, printed off and displayed on shop windows or doors. These are available here.
Face coverings are also mandatory on public transport in Scotland.
