Tomy and its games division Drumond Park have launched an online version of Articulate in response to a growing trend for playing the popular word description game over video call apps.
The company today launched the new microsite playarticulate.com, where two sets of cards will be available on all phones, tablets or PCs.
Tomy hopes the launch will help keep friends and families connected during the UK’s ongoing Covid-19 lockdown, encouraging those that are spending time apart for the next few months to still enjoy each other’s company and have some competitive fun.
There’s no charge or registration required; players can simply jump in and begin playing.
The team at Drumond Park say the decision to keep things as simple as possible aims to encourage people to stay indoors, while staying in touch, to keep the nation safe with a national favourite board game.
"We’ve been genuinely blown away by all the stories, pictures and videos of folk using FaceTime, Zoom etc. to play games of Articulate! with their loved ones. Thanks so much for sharing, everybody," says a note from the team on the new microsite.
"We wanted to make it easier for people who are apart to enjoy the game, so we’ve decided to make the original cards available online here, for free."
