Host of new UK licensees come on board for revival of hit Cartoon Network animation
Cartoon Network EMEA is continuing to accelerate the licensing drive for its revival of The Powerpuff Girls, today announcing a number of new UK partners.
Hachette has been signed as the master publishing partner for the UK and will introduce a range of paperback series fiction, guidebooks and sticker activity formats from May 2017. Meanwhile boosting the accessories category, ZAK is launching lunchware products for back to school, and kicking off the food and drink line-up is Kinnerton, which will develop confectionery products for Easter 2018.
Graham Saltmarsh, Director of Licensing UK and Nordics at Cartoon Network Enterprises EMEA said: “It’s thrilling to see the UK licensing industry displaying such confidence in the revival of The Powerpuff Girls, as the signing of these new best-in-class licensees demonstrates. What’s more, we’re delighted be working with partners who share our enthusiasm for injecting the girls’ market with genuine newness and bringing brands that both empower and entertain to girls across the country.”
These latest signings join a diverse range of top-class partners that are already on board. The UK merchandise roll-out was kicked off in January 2017 by global toy partner Spin Master, which began launching with major UK retailers including Argos, The Entertainer, Smyths, Amazon, Tesco and Asda. The brand’s licensing programme will be significantly expanded from June 2017 as products start launching in the publishing, fashion, accessories, gifting, homewares, personal care, FMCG and back-to-school categories.
