Entries for the Play for Change awards are now open, with submissions accepted until 8 May.
Announced earlier this year by Toy Industries of Europe, the awards have been launched to champion toy companies that are making a positive impact on kids’ lives.
They focus on three categories: sustainability, empowerment and future skills, each tailored to recognise the steps companies are taking to educate and improve children’s futures.
The Play for Change Awards are seeking entries from forward-thinking companies with products and corporate initiatives that help kids confidently navigate the world around them in ways that show respect for themselves, for others and for the planet.
Entries can include both products and projects launched in Europe in 2019 that set a new standard in either of the three categories. A sustainable toy that introduces children to concepts of recycling or a new production process that cuts down on the use of virgin plastics are equally likely to win.
Submissions will be judged by a panel of experts headed by Sanjay Luthra, Chairman of the TIE Board and MD EMEA at Mattel.
Entries of all sizes from across Europe that have a positive impact will be in the running for an award.
Entries will be accepted from today until 8 May 2020, with the winners announced in September.
