Dr Gummer’s Good Play Guide has launched an online family festival with the aim of putting play back at the heart of the home, as families handle a world of school closure and self-isolation to slow the coronavirus pandemic.
Play at Home Fest will offer themed virtual stages with activities, entertainment, competitions and play, providing something for all the family across two action-packed days in May.
Running 23-24 May, a line-up featuring favourite characters, celebrities and brands, will join the Play at Home Fest – and there are also opportunities for enable businesses in the children’s industries to get involved and raise their brand profile, as well as offering appositive message during the Covid-19 outbreak.
The festival also aims to support local businesses, as well as raise funds for the National Emergencies Trust Coronavirus Appeal. Promoted throughout the consumer media, as well as digitally via social media, consumers will be invited to download printable festival wristbands to begin their experience.
“Play at Home Fest enables us to support the trade and consumers at a time where we all need to pull together, help one another and inject as much play as we can into children’s lives,” says Dr Amanda Gummer, Founder and CEO, of the Good Play Guide.
There are a wide range of opportunities for companies in the toy, nursery, licensing and children’s products industry to get involved with the Play at Home Festival, from sponsorship to stage takeovers and activity provision
Activities and performances will be live streamed via playathomefest.com, as well as across Good Play Guide social media channels, reaching a highly targeted and engaged audience. Across the festival weekend, attendees can expect to sing, dance, create and relax, with a huge variety of performers lined up.
“We’re thrilled to be able to bring together children’s industries to provide an action-packed, fun-filled play festival during such difficult times,” Amanda adds.
