With schools currently closed and parents and carers home schooling once again, the toy retailer has invested in a bank of content created by educational experts, from early years through to Key Stage 2.
In addition to the worksheets, the Hub will include tips for home learning and advice on key focus areas to help parents support their children as best they can at home and is designed to fit into what limited time they might have as a result of other lockdown pressures. There will also be Q&A opportunities on Early Learning Centre’s Facebook page, giving parents the chance to ask the experts any questions they might have with regards to supporting their children’s learning at home.
The learning hub, which will sit on the Early Learning Centre website (www.elc.co.uk) will be updated regularly with content to suit a wide range of ages from early years, with additional activity sheets uploaded over the next few weeks; ensuring there’s plenty to keep children busy and learning whilst parents and carers juggle Zoom calls.
Gary Grant, Founder and Executive Chairman of The Entertainer which owns Early Learning Centre said: “The impact of this third lockdown on children’s learning and development is an extremely worrying time for parents. Many are working from home and are now finding themselves with the hugely challenging task of trying to teach their children at home as well. With over 4 months of classroom time already lost, parents are rightly worried about the impact on their children’s learning and development. We want to support families as best we can through this challenging time, so we have partnered with a number of educational experts to create a hub of help and support for parents during this latest period of home schooling. Our Early Learning Centre brand is proud to have supported children’s learning and development for nearly 50 years and we hope this content will provide additional help and support to families during this challenging time.”
Early learning Centre is also offering parents the chance to save an extra 25% on all online orders over £20 on a host of products which make learning from home more fun and manageable, including already reduced items across www.elc.co.uk.
