Zimpli Kids has ramped up its sustainability efforts with the launch of a new eco range, featuring fully recyclable packaging.
For this new range, Zimpli has done away with plastic packaging to ensure all boxes, leaflets and bags are 100 per cent recyclable. All packaging for the company’s best-selling lines can now be responsible disposed of in standard card and paper recycling. The eco range boxes have also been designed with a plain white background on four sides of the box, reducing the ink usage by 49 per cent to further reduce the environmental impact.
Zimpli has continued this trend with its in-store merchandising options, redesigning and creating retail displays and CDUs from recycled board.
The company’s sustainability efforts have also been extended to manufacturing.
“We now manufacture over 95per cent of our products in our company owned UK factory,” says Sales Director Eejay Enyi. “We achieved ISO 9001 accreditation last year and we have just been accredited with ISO 14001, the coveted environmental certification”
Compromises have had to be made, the company admits, but Eejay believes the reduced impact on the environment is more than worth it.
“It’s true our paper bags do not seal quite as reliably as plastic bags and our retail packaging may not be quite as shiny in recycled board as it would in new board, but we firmly believe this very nominal reduction in quality is more than justified," she says. "We hope you do, too.”
Zimpli will soon be giving its educational range a full, green revamp.
