DreamWorks Animations’ Trolls are to be given the LEGO treatment thanks to a new deal with the toymaker and Universal Brand Development.
The new LEGO range will be inspired by the characters and scenes in the forthcoming Trolls sequel, Trolls World Tour.
“We are excited to build upon our successful partnership with Universal by adding the popular Trolls franchise into our collection,” says Jill Wilfert, Vice President, Licensing and Entertainment, LEGO Group.
“The first film was a colourful celebration of positivity that appealed to a wide audience, and we see a lot of potential in the Trolls’ universe to inspire compelling, creative play experiences.”
Joe Lawandus, Senior Vice President and General Manager, North America Consumer Products, Universal Brand Development, adds: “We’re thrilled to be expanding our partnership with the LEGO Group to include the Trolls franchise. Our collaboration with the LEGO Group will bring the Trolls’ vibrant world to life with construction sets that inspire creativity and open up new and exciting play patterns for the brand.”
No further details have been revealed as to what to expect from the LEGO sets.
Trolls World Tour, a sequel to 2016’s Trolls, will premiere in theatres globally in spring 2020, and episodes of the original series, DreamWorks Trolls: The Beat Goes On!, are now streaming on Netflix.
