Jazwares has been tapped to produce the first line of toys for CoComelon, one of the biggest and longest-running YouTube channel’s for kids.
The new toy range will include plush, bath toys, vehicles, figurines, and role play inspired by the characters and visuals fans of the channel will recognise.
Jay Jeon, the founder and CEO of Treasure Studio, Inc. and creator of CoComelon, says: “We’re excited about partnering with Jazwares to extend the benefits of our popular videos beyond the screen for the very first time and give young children great new ways to experience the stories and familiar characters from one of their favourite YouTube channels.”
The partnership was brokered by CoComelon’s licensing agency TRAUB, forming part of a wider merchandise roll out for the brand.
Jeremy Padawer, the newly minted EVP and partner at Jazwares, following the acquisition of Wicked Cool Toys, says: “CoComelon is widely beloved by parents and kids alike with identifiable characters, iconic music, and relatable play patterns, and we definitely expect the brand to resonate in the toy aisle.”
CoComelon launched in the early days of YouTube, back in 2006, attracting more than 72 million subscribers and garnering 2.5bn-plus views per month, making it the number one educational channel on the platform and one of the biggest overall.
Michael Rinzler, EVP and partner at Jazwares, adds: “As more families are co-viewing content on YouTube, they are looking for new ways to enjoy their favourite characters and moments off-screen, making this the perfect time to debut a toy line inspired by the incredibly popular CoComelon programming.”
The toy range will land at retail in the US this autumn.
