Are the latest licensed characters to join the children’s audio system, alongside new season Easter Bunny Tonie

Fireman Sam and Despicable Me join tonies line-up thumbnail

A pair of much-loved licensed characters have joined the tonies collection of stories and songs, as well an Easter Bunny Creative-Tonie.

Fireman Sam and Despicable Me: The Junior Novel are the latest licensed additions to the children’s audio system, and join other popular properties such as Disney’s The Lion King, The Gruffalo and Little Red Riding Hood.

Based on the TV series, the Fireman Sam Tonie character comes packed full of content that runs for 60 minutes and tells the tale of its namesake saving the day in the fictional Welsh town of Pontypandy.

The Despicable Me: The Junior Novel Tonie runs for 116 minutes, with a story of mastermind Gru and his Minions, one of which the Tonie itself takes the form of.
“We are delighted to introduce two such well known and loved titles to our collection,” says tonies co-founder Marcus Stahl.

“Minions have become iconic animated figures in their own right, and it is fantastic to be able to add the timeless character Fireman Sam to the collection. We look forward to seeing the response from new and existing customers and have more exciting launches planned in the coming months.”

A seasonal Easter Bunny Creative-Tonie has also been added to therange takes the form of a bunny holding a basket of Easter eggs and will enable users to record their own audio via the Tonie-App.

More than 10.5 million Tonies and one million Tonieboxes have been sold across Europe since launch. The brand began its expansion into the States this year with the hire of Christoph Frehsee as US General Manager. Product is expected to hit American shelves towards the end of this year.
