Tonies has booked a Disney classic for its first licensed launch with the entertainment giant.
Baloo from The Jungle Book comes packed with 24 minutes of audio, including The Bear Necessities, I Wanna Be Like You and other singalong favourites from the classic animated movie.
The Jungle Book is the first of four planned Disney titles coming to the tonies collection later this year. It will launch at retail on 15 August in select toy retailers, bookshops and on the tonies website.
To celebrate the launch, tonies is tapping into some of the latest augmented reality technology on Facebook, as Marketing Manager Lisa Khosravi told TNP.MEDIA today at Xmas in July: “You can see the new Disney tonie in action whether you have a Toniebox yet or not. Visitors to our Facebook page can use the app’s built-in AR technology to make a virtual version appear on the desk or table in front of them. You can then trial a minute of the audio to see the magic in action.
“This AR technology has already been used by the likes of Sephora and Nike to great effect, but we think we’re the first toy brand to , so it’s a really exciting way to announce the launch.”
Users who give the AR feature a whirl will be entered into a prize draw to win a family trip to one of Disney’s parks and resorts.
Tonies combines physical collectable figures and audiobook content for a unique play and listen experience. Simply place a figure on the Toniebox, a speaker system that recognises which character it’s been paired with, to hear stories, songs and more – including personalised messages from family and friends that can be recorded time and again through the tonies app.
