US Toy of the Year entries close in one week thumbnail

Toy companies looking to enter the US toy of the Year awards 2020 have just one week left to submit their latest and greatest innovations.

All submissions must be made online here before midnight on Thursday 19 September, when entries will close and a team of toy experts will whittle them down to create this year’s shortlist of finalists.

Finalists in the toy, game, and license categories will be revealed in the week of 11 November for members of the Toy Association, media, retailers, and the public to cast their votes until 5 January.

The winners will be unveiled during the Toy of the Year Awards presentation in New York City on 21 February, the evening before New York Toy Fair opens its doors. The celebration will kick off the 117th North American International Toy Fair, and include the induction of toy industry trailblazers into the esteemed Toy Industry Hall of Fame.

Last year's US TOTY winner was MGA's L.O.L Surprise

Toy suppliers can submit their products in the following 16 categories:

Action Figure of the Year, Creative Toy of the Year, Collectable of the Year, Construction Toy of the Year, Doll of the Year, Game of the Year, Infant/Toddler Toy of the Year, Innovative Toy of the Year, License of the Year, Outdoor Toy of the Year, Playset of the Year, Plush of the Year, STEM/STEAM Toy of the Year, Vehicle of the Year.

The toy with the most consumer votes will be crowned People Choice of the Year, before unveiling the overall Toy of the Year 2020.

Last year’s Toy of the Year was MGA’s L.O.L Surprise! collectables, which also won License of the Year and Doll of the Year. Other previous TOTY winners include WowWee’s Fingerlings and LEGO’s Friends Amusement Park Rollercoaster.
