Asmodee’s Green Board Games will reprise its sponsorship of The Autism Hero Awards this year in support of the Anna Kennedy Online (AKO) Charity.
The awards, taking place on 9 November at the Chelsea Harbour Hotel, celebrate the outstanding contributions and achievements of individuals, teams and organisations working across the spectrum.
As part of its continued support of AKO, Green Board Games will be sponsoring the Sibling of the Year Award, an accolade that acknowledges those who have taken action to support autistic siblings or increased awareness of autism through their attitude, empathy and selfless actions.
Anna Kennedy, founder of the AKO autism charity, says: “As a charity we are reliant on our sponsor partners to help us to raise further awareness of autism, and we are delighted to have been able to work with Green Board Games over the years.
"Their continued support helps us to achieve our goal of increasing the number of opportunities for individuals on the autism spectrum and enhance the wider understanding of autism.”
Green Board Games’ advocacy of inclusive play and support of autism awareness and support organisations stretches back to before its recent acquisition by Asmodee. The brand’s products, such as the award-winning and BrainBox range, are built around educational play that can be adapted for all ages and abilities, based on simple gameplay to evoke memory and learning patterns.
Karen Nunn, Marketing Consultant for Asmodee’s Green Board Games and creator of the Inclusive Play initiative, says: “We are delighted to be supporting the Anna Kennedy Online Foundation and their plight to enhance autism awareness and, of course, acceptance – something we at GBG have always taken great pride in appreciating.
“We are delighted to be able to reward those who have faced difficult challenges over the last year and those that have been committed to raising awareness with understanding.”
